Solo Persons Ministry

About Solo Persons Ministry

The Solo Persons Ministry provides a supportive community for solo parents and individuals, offering spiritual nourishment, fellowship, and practical support as we journey together in faith.

Our Vision

We are a community of solo parents and persons celebrating our dignity and wholeness in Christ. We encounter the incarnate Christ in one another by freely and fully committing to grow in a loving relationship with God, our family, and community—renewed and strengthened by the Holy Spirit. We are called to proclaim our faith and witness to the power of the cross and the resurrection of Christ, rooted in His Word, nourished by His teachings and Sacraments, and cultivated by our service to God and fellowship with our neighbors.

Our Mission

The Solo Persons Ministry commits to restore families in Christ by serving as a support group to solo parents and persons through our ministry of loving presence, understanding, guidance, and a process of reconciliation, spiritual renewal, and growth.

We aim to:

  • Accompany solo parents/persons and their children in their struggles by providing opportunities for restoring themselves in God’s plan
  • Offer continuous renewal through encounters, retreats, recollections, and spiritual formation programs
  • Provide pastoral care and teachings that address the particular needs and concerns of solo parents/persons
  • Assist in healing and transformation toward becoming fruitful and triumphant Christians

Who is a Solo Parent/Person?

Our ministry welcomes individuals in various life situations:

  • Widows and widowers
  • Those who are divorced
  • Single parents with children (natural or adopted)
  • Singles 40 years and older without children

The Solo Parent/Person Encounter

The Solo Parent/Person Encounter (SPE) is a spiritual renewal weekend conducted in an atmosphere of prayerful reflection. The ultimate goal is a conversion of heart, a renewal of mind, and a transformation of life.

Objectives:

  1. To know the love of God and His workings in your life
  2. To receive the Lord’s grace and be open to His healing and restoration
  3. To have a fresh awareness of your role at home, in the workplace, community, and society
  4. To realize Christ’s living presence active in, with, and through the community

The Process:

Through prayers, intercessions, and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the weekend includes:

  • Inspirational teachings
  • Personal testimonies and witnessing
  • Scriptural reflections
  • Dialogue and sharing

Spiritual Disciplines

We encourage the following practices for ongoing growth:

  • Daily prayer
  • Use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit
  • Study and meditation of the Word
  • Regular reception of the Sacraments
  • Fellowship and service within the community

“My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand.” — John 10:27-28
