Our History

The story of our community's growth and service

1985

Establishment

The Bukas Loob sa Diyos (Open in Spirit to God) Covenant Community started in Manila, Philippines, founded by Rev. Pascual Adorable, SJ.

1995

San Francisco Prayer Group

The story of BLD San Francisco Bay Area began in 1995 when the first members successfully collaborated with the Diocese of Oakland and the group was recognized as the BLD-Bay Area prayer group.

2014

San Francisco District

BLD (OSG) San Francisco & Bay Area was established as a full-pledge district of BLD, under the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

District Spiritual Director

Assists BLD SF Bay Area's integration into the life & mission of the Church, providing spiritual guidance & counsel to our leaders and members.

Cluster Shepherds

Upholds the unity & harmonious relationship among members and liaises with the diocese in regard to the life & ministry of the community.

Pastoral Apostolate

Responsible for the Pastoral Care Program and various pastoral care ministries.

Management Apostolate

Responsible for the administration of personnel, material, financial and logistical resources and capabilities of the community.

Evangelization Apostolate

Responsible for Encounter Programs, Life in the Spirit Seminars, Praise, Liturgy Ministries, and Corporate Worships.

Formation Apostolate

Responsible for the Formation Program to ensure the spiritual growth of our community.
